Everyone has their own idea about what a photograph is and how it is made.
Technically, a photograph is made when light burns (or paints) an image onto a photo-sensitive material.
For me, a photograph is created when I click the shutter and the moment before me is forever frozen -
for others to examine using their own perspective and/or life experiences.
My degree is in formal technical photography. During my time at the University, I did not explore Art theory/training.
I do, however, consider myself a "photographic artist". My photography is a reflection of the world
around me - as I perceive it. My personality and outlook on life, as well as my thoughts and feelings
are subtly displayed in the images I create.
As my philosophy has changed over the years, my images show the evolution of my beliefs in regards to
"What makes a good photograph?" or "What is photographically worthy?"
My photography is less about monetary reward and more about finding an outlet for my artistic passions.
I do not advertise and/or try to book every moment of my time. I only accept projects in which I believe I will
find artistic value and creative pleasure.
I ask that if you find an image on my site that you enjoy, please ask my permission (contact via email)
before taking it for any purpose ~ as all of my images are copyrighted.
